Spring is almost here and after such a long and cold winter, we are so excited! Come celebrate Spring with our 2015 Easter Mini Sessions!

Sessions will feature a fun and elegant "Spring Garden" Theme and are perfect for babies, children, families, or couples. Sessions will be held In-Studio in Gahanna, Ohio. Portraits will be available in plenty of time for Easter!

All sessions include 10 high resolution digital images with a reprint release. You can share your images online or make your own prints at your favorite printing place. You can also select from a variety of photo gifts for Easter or order professional prints through your gallery on MuschlitzPhoto.com.

A special congratulations to Merisa and Curt on their Fall Vintage Wedding!

After meeting through mutual friends years ago, Merisa and Curt's friendship grew over the years and they exchanged vows this past fall at Creekside Conference and Event Center in Gahanna, Ohio.

One of my favorite things about photographing weddings is capturing the special connection that each couple shares. It was very easy to see and feel the love and respect that Merisa and Curt have for each other. When you're around them for just a few minutes, you quickly notice how the conversation just seems to flow and is always accompanied by some laughter. It was so much fun capturing moments of these two together on their wedding day. Their love definitely shows in their photos.

Their wedding was incredibly memorable with all of the personal touches they added. From early on in her planning, Merisa mentioned that she wanted a vintage feel for their day. From her beautiful jeweled headband to her long and stately train, Merisa was the perfect picture of vintage elegance. One of the most unique details of their day was the thistle Merisa had in her wedding bouquet! She has a special affinity for thistle and her florist, Weddings Flowers by Eleana, did an incredible job incorporating it into her bouquet and her bridemaids bouquets - the bouquets still looked soft and romantic, even with the thistle elements.

Merisa and Curt had a first look session and we took the wedding party and bride and groom portraits before the ceremony. We were able to capture them with some of the beautiful fall colors outdoors. They had originally planned for an outdoor ceremony, but a rain storm rolled in and Creekside Conference and Event Center was able to move the ceremony indoors. It was such a nice ceremony and included many natural elements as you'll see in the photos of the couple using flowers to symbolize different aspects of their love and commitment to each other. The ceremony was made even more special as the couple had asked their close friends Barry and Jodi to perform the ceremony. The reception that followed was a huge hit, with a live performance by the band Cajun Butter! The evening was filled with dancing and lots of laughter. All who attended had an amazing time.

Congratulations again to Merisa and Curt on their wedding! We wish them all the best in this next chapter of their lives together!

2014 was an incredible year and 2015 is off to an amazing start! I kicked off the year with Valentine's Day themed Mini Sessions at the end of January. A special thank you to all of those who came out to participate - I'm so glad that I could provide you with some fresh and fun images of you and your loved ones. :-) We had so much fun in the studio playing with Valentine Props and multiple backdrops. It's been such a blessing to have access to a new studio space to play in, especially with winter upon us! I was so excited to work with Holly and Robby to capture their Romantic Pink Wedding this fall!

It's always refreshing to see a couple as sweet and fun as Holly and Robby. :-) I had so much fun capturing them both during their special day. The couple met during college through mutual friends. One was attending the University of Dayton and the other was at the Ohio State University. Both are originally from the Columbus area and would often meet in Columbus while in college.

The couple exchanged vows at Powell United Methodist Church in Powell, Ohio. The beautiful red doors outside of the church were the perfect backdrop for some post ceremony portraits of the bride and groom! Brookside Golf & Country Club also offered a variety of beautiful spaces for us to take pictures before the reception. I especially LOVE the weeping willow photos! After portraits, the celebration continued during their reception at Brookside Golf & Country Club. Guests loved the cute cake topper, rose centerpieces, the dance floor, and the ice cream sundae bar! (What a fun idea!)

Congratulations again to Holly and Robby on their big day. We wish you all the best in what's sure to be a long and happy future together. :-) Enjoy some of my favorites from their wedding!

I was excited to work with my friend and fellow wedding professional Jeff Snow and his family taking their family portraits this fall! Jeff and his wife Kylie are the owners of JBK Mobile DJ here in Columbus. I've worked with Jeff and Kylie a few times and highly recommend them for your wedding or event- they know how to keep your guests dancing all night long!

Kylie's parents were able to join Jeff, Kylie and their son Brady at Creekside Park in Gahanna on a cooler, but beautiful November day. We made some wonderful images of their family with the changing leaves on the trees that I'm so excited to share.

A special congratulations to Karin and Matt on their beautiful Summer Apple Orchard Wedding!

For their wedding, they decided to return to Karin's hometown and exchange vows at Wiard's Orchard in Ypsilanti Michigan, close to Ann Arbor. Ironically enough, the groom, Matt, is actually an Ohio State University alumni and his part of the wedding planning was choosing the wedding colors: Ohio State Scarlet and Grey! It was a fun treat to see the OSU colors so close to the University of Michigan. :-)

Karin and Matt have a special connection and it's hard not to crack a smile when you see the two of them together. Laughter is such a huge part of their lives and their cheerful personalities can quickly brighten up any room. My favorite part of photographing their day was how natural the photographs of the two of them were. They are so comfortable with one another and not afraid to show their love. It didn't matter if the camera was there, Matt and Karin were so head over heels that it was easy to capture all the authentic laughs and smiles on their big day.

We had scouted out a few locations at the orchard for portraits the day before their wedding, but also had the special treat of photographing them with some antique cars that belonged to Karin's grandfather. One of my favorite sets of images is when we photographed them in front of a beautiful navy-blue Ford!

Special care was put into all the details of their day- from the unique location, to the rustic shelter house, to the log guestbook, and tree inspired wedding cake, every detail showcased the apple orchard theme. But their wedding was memorable, not just because of the fabulous theme, but the fun, family focused atmosphere of the whole day. Both Matt and Karin came from larger families and included them throughout the wedding process. Most of the wedding party members were siblings or cousins.

The ceremony was very picturesque and was held in front of rows of apple trees and had a backdrop of puffy clouds. Karin's father was the officant which was such a neat way to include Karin's family. :-) The reception that followed was so much fun! The dance floor was packed until late in the evening. We enjoyed capturing all of the excitement and dancing on the floor by friends and family. All who attended had a wonderful time and I know that it will be a wedding they'll talk about for years to come!

I am so excited for Karin and Matt and wish them all the best in this next chapter of their lives together!

With Christmas almost here, I wanted to share a special and fun treat: Dog Portraits from this year's Howliday Bazaar!

This year Muschlitz Photography has been blessed to partner with our friends at Friends of the Shelter. Friends of the Shelter is an all-volunteer, 501c3 non-profit organization established to fund the medical care of the sick and injured dogs at the Franklin County Dog Shelter and Adoption Center. The Franklin County Dog Shelter and Adoption Center is funded by the county budget and from funds generated through fees, such as dog licenses. However, these sources of funding are not sufficient to provide medical care for the Shelter dogs that need more than basic services. The Friends of the Shelter was formed in 2003 to save these sick or injured--but otherwise adoptable--dogs so they can be adopted into loving, forever families. They do an amazing job bringing sick animals back to being healthy again and we are so supportive and touched by their efforts. We were able to dedicate our Dog Days of Summer Mini Sessions in their honor and raised $500 for the organization, and were so excited to help take the images during their Fall Festival in October and at this year's "Howliday Bazaar"! We've had so much fun working them and making images of pet owners and their pets on two holiday/winter themed backgrounds. Enjoy some of our favorites in today's blog post!

We had so much fun with our Winter Themed Mini Sessions this year! This was our first year for winter mini sessions and they were a success! We have partnered with My Own Studio LLC in Gahanna and are so excited to now be able to offer in-studio sessions, especially on cold wintery days. This year's sessions included a snowy scene, and a rustic wood Christmas scene. A special thank you to all of the families who participated in their year's sessions. OSU college sweethearts, Ashley & Ryan, are tying the knot! Ohio State has been a very special place for them both. Not only did they first meet at OSU, but Ryan popped the question this past summer on the Oval in front of the library! Since campus is so meaningful to them, it was the perfect location for their engagement session! We enjoyed making pictures throughout campus, visiting some of their favorite areas and even stopping by the Horse Shoe! Congratulations Ashley and Ryan! When I heard that my dear friends Rebecca and Justin were engaged I was so excited for them. The engagement had been a long time coming, it's not every day that you meet a couple who clicks as much as Rebecca and Justin.

But when I heard that they were planning a Marvel Comic Book Inspired Wedding, I could barely contain my excitement! It's hard not to have fun with theme like this!

Rebecca and Justin's love of the comic book world goes way back. For years they have both enjoyed reading comics, collecting Marvel collectibles, and watching the comic book movies. Since it's been a shared interested for a long time, the two actually got engaged at the local comic book store, Comic Town, where they would go once a week to pick up the latest comics. :-)

Rebecca is incredibly creative with a unique, classy style. Justin had suggested that they use a Marvel Comic Theme and Rebecca thought that would be a neat idea. As she was planning the wedding, she stressed that she wanted it to be fun with a Marvel Comic Flair, but she still wanted it to be classy and romantic. When the big day came, their wedding day was everything they had imagined and more.

The couple wanted a different feel for their wedding and exchanged vows at Landoll's Mohican Castle in Loudonville, Ohio near Mohican State Park. They held an outdoor ceremony with the reception following in the Castle's own reception/event center. We were blessed with the perfect summer day in Ohio- blue skies, puffy clouds, and a lovely 75 degree day. The Castle grounds are beautiful and we enjoyed using them for their portraits.

In order to achieve the classic comic book look they were going for, they recieved a lot of help from their families and friends in making the decorations. From the comic book origami flower bouquets and boutineres, to the tasteful decoupaged wedding shoes and center pieces, no detail was overlooked. Peanut brittle favors for guests were decorated with a custom 8-bit Hulk and She-Hulk sticker, and the wedding cake featured the Hulk peeking out from under it as if he were "squished". One of my favorite details was Rebecca's Captain America veil and Avenger headband.

Their wedding was defintely one to remember. Not only was their theme fun and memorable, but family was such an important part of their day, and the couple enjoyed lots of time with family and friends. All who attended had a wonderful time and I know that it will be a wedding they'll talk about for years to come!

I am so excited for them both and wish them all the best in this next chapter of their lives together!

Dogs have always held a special place in our hearts at Muschlitz Photography. When we heard that the non-profit, Friends of the Shelter, has had a dramatic decrease in their financial donations and increase in medical care costs when saving the lives of sick and injured Shelter dogs at the Franklin County Dog Shelter and Adoption Center, we wanted to find way that we could help.

In an effort to raise some funds for them, we dedicated our our Summer 2014 Mini Sessions, Dog Days of Summer, to our friends at Friends of the Shelter.

I was so excited to partner with past wedding clients Johnna and Brad and their furry family. We held their session at the Columbus Park of Roses near Whetstone Park in Columbus, Ohio. Many of the roses were still in bloom and we even got to enjoy some portraits in the Herb Garden! We had a lot of fun photographing their 2 cats, Beau & Pita, and their dog Georgia. We made some wonderful images of all 5 of them that I'm so excited to share! Enjoy some of my favorites from their session!

A big congratulations to Amanda and Eric on exchanging vows this summer at the Olde Gahanna Sanctuary!

The bride Amanda's creativity flourished at their wedding. Her fun and family focused vision was evident in every thoughtful detail from their day. She is naturally artistic and designed her own bouquets and centerpieces. The groom, Eric, even jumped in and assisted with the boutineres, creating a boutinere that looked like each groomsmen with legos!

Fun was the word of the day to describe Amanda and Eric's wedding. From before the start of the ceremony to well into the evening, laughter filled the air. Their large wedding party and families were joking and jovial the whole night long. A good time was had by all. :-)

In an effort to raise some funds for them, we dedicated our our Summer 2014 Mini Sessions, Dog Days of Summer, to our friends at Friends of the Shelter.

One of our first clients for the Dog Days of Summer Mini Sessions was Kara and Danny and their dog Daisy! We ventured to one of my favorite dog-friendly locations, Highbanks Metro Park for an evening portrait session. Summer evening portrait sessions are at the perfect time of the day to make images with the warm light from the setting sun. A special congratulations to Jenna & Dave on exchanging vows this summer!

The couple wed at the beautiful St. John Chrysostom Byzantine Catholic Church in Columbus, Ohio. Jenna had grown-up in the church so it was a very special place for her to be married. The church was absolutely breathtaking with it's colorful hand-painted murals and stained glass- it was definitely a dream setting for their wedding day! After the ceremony, we headed outdoors to a park close to the reception venue for some more portraits of the wedding party and the couple.

The reception was held at the Hilton Columbus/Polaris. One of the things I loved about Jenna and Dave's wedding is how they focused on involving their loved ones and church/cultural community in all of the wedding day festivities. Family and church friends helped make a elaborate dessert table, complete with many cookies, pies, and treats! The table was a huge hit and was enjoyed by all. During the reception, the couple combined traditional DJ music with live music from their close familiy friends in the Tom Katrenich Orchestra/Wedding Band. With the variety of music and cultural dancing, the dance floor was full all night long!

Congratulations again to Jenna and Dave on their big day. We wish you all the best in what's sure to be a long and happy future together. :-) Enjoy some of my favorites from their wedding!

A special congratulations to Annie & Austin on their Classic Purple Wedding this summer! I absolutely loved capturing their special day. :-)

The couple exchanged their vows at the beautiful New Hope Reformed Church in Powell, near the Columbus Zoo. The ends of the church pews were decorated with white and purple calla lilies to match their Purple wedding theme. After the ceremony, we ventured to downtown Dublin for some wedding party and bride and groom portraits. Downtown Dublin has been a special place for Annie and Austin. The two of them enjoyed many dates at the local restaurants there and Bad Frog Frozen Yogurt! (We actually stopped at Bad Frog during their portraits so that the wedding party could enjoy a tasty treat before the reception.)

The reception was held at the Columbus Marriott Northwest in Dublin. It was the perfect setting for a fun-filled reception! The reception featured some dramatic floral arrangements from Flowers on Orchard Lane. Annie and Austin had taken some ballroom dancing lessons and had their own custom first dance. The dance floor was full most of the night...it was easy to see that everyone who attended had a wonderful time celebrating their marriage!

Congratulations again to Annie and Austin on their big day. We wish you all the best in what's sure to be a long and happy future together. :-) Enjoy some of my favorites from their wedding!

Congratulations to Lauren on her senior year at Gahanna Lincoln High School! I've had the privilege of getting to know her family over the past few years and was so excited when they approached me to photograph Lauren. It has been amazing watching the beautiful young lady that Lauren has grown into. Lauren wanted a location that was unqiue so we ventured over the The Jeffrey Mansion and Park in Bexley, Ohio! She selected to have an evening portrait session, which is my all time favorite time of the day to make pictures during the summer. We were able to capture Lauren relaxed and at ease under the warm summer evening light. We had a wonderful time working with her and her family and wish her all the best in her future ventures!

A special congratulations to Brittany & Aaron on their Elegant Country Wedding in Bellefontaine, Ohio! It was such an honor to work with them both on their wedding day. :-) I have a special love for country weddings and Brittany and Aaron's wedding is one of my favorites! Brittany had a special vision for her wedding. Her eye for detail, and desire to make sure that everyone had a great time made her wedding one to remember!

The ceremony at the Gretna Brethren Church was beautiful! It was such a wonderful gathering of friends and family as the couple exchanged their vows. In between the ceremony and reception we visited some of their family's property to capture the couple and their wedding party with some breathtaking views of the area's landscape. The reception followed at the Harvest Barn at the Winners Family Farm. It was the perfect setting for a fun-filled reception! Brittany is very creative and made sure that every detail was thought through and memorable. She created the centerpieces and various displays at the reception herself! Her vision for her wedding was stunning and everyone who attended had a wonderful time.

Throughout the day, it was easy to see the special connection that Brittany and Aaron share -- I wish them all the best in this next chapter of their lives together! Enjoy some of my favorites from their wedding!

Aaron gifted Brittany a heart shaped necklace that said "I love you Brittany".

They had a Bubble Send-Off outside of the church!

Always Remembered: In honor of her grandfathers who had passed, Brittany included their wedding bands in her bouquet!

During the reception, Brittany and Aaron ventured outside to catch some beautiful images in front of an antique truck while the sun was setting.

One of my favorite moments of the two of them! Love this!

After 4 years of dating, Holly and Robby are tying the knot! To celebrate we documented their engagement by having their engagement session at Highbanks Metro Park in Columbus, Ohio. Both Holly and Robby love the outdoors and for years met at Highbanks to walk the beautiful paths there. The park served as a frequent halfway meeting point since both of their lived on opposite sides of Columbus. During their session, they not only enjoyed strolling down the wooded paths, but they ventured up to a special section of the park where there was an incredible old red barn and silo. We are so excited to capture all of the love and joy on their big day next weekend!

Wedding Rehearsal: Practice Makes Perfect

Wedding Tip Wednesday: Avoid worrying about the ceremony by having a wedding rehearsal to practice beforehand.

Debating about whether or not a wedding rehearsal is necessary for your big day? Regardless of whether your wedding is big or small, we highly recommend having a rehearsal. If you're having a smaller wedding without a wedding party, we recommend having at least a ceremony walk through with your officiant.

On your wedding day, there are a lot of things going on. Between hair and make-up, the venue decorations and set-up, and the logistics of getting from once place to another, you will have a lot to think about. (Not to mention getting used to the idea of getting married!) Having a rehearsal will help you and your wedding party to know what to expect and keep things running smoothly. Everyone always feels more relaxed when they know what direction they're entering from, who in the wedding party they're walking back down the aisle with, and a rehearsal will allow you the opportunity to make sure that the ceremony flows how you envisioned it.

Congratulations to Merisa and Curt on their engagement! I absolutely loved working with these two and cannot wait to do so again on the big day. :-) We had so much fun making pictures of the two of them at Inniswood Metro Gardens. When selecting a location for their session, Curt mentioned "The Secret Garden" at Inniswood- a place that in all of my years of visitng the park I had never been to! It's an amazing spot and allowed us to make some romantic images of the two of them in a unique space from the rest of the gardens. It made my heart smile to see the special connection that they both have. Their session was full of laughter and smiles. The couple is realy comfortable when each other and it's apparent in their photos. I can't wait to capture more sweet moments like these on their wedding day this October.

All About the Glasses...

Wedding Tip Wednesday: "Glasses are 'OK' just make sure to leave the transition lenses at home if you can!"

One of the common questions that we often get is whether or not glasses can be worn in someone's wedding photos. A lot of people are nervous about getting glare in their photos because of their glasses. I have good news! Regular glasses are usually not a problem- we have photographed many people over the years and can handle any photos with glasses with ease.

That said, one thing to keep in mind is that, if at all possible, you should avoid wearing glasses with the "transition lenses" that change the tint when outdoors or in bright spaces. We can easily avoid glare in photos, but there is little that we can do to change the dark tint of a "sunglasses" look. Instead of wearing transition lenses, we recommend wearing regular glasses without the transition lens, or contacts.

Should I Have a Hair or Make-up Trial Run?

Have a particular look in mind for your wedding day? Whether you want an simple up-do or long luxurious locks, or classic make-up or something bolder, make sure that you have a trial run with you hair and make-up artist at least a couple of months before the big day. A trial run will allow you to try out the hairstyle or make-up colors that you've been oogling over and see if it works for you. You can also get to know your hairstylist or make-up artist and learn what to expect on your big day.

During your trial run, wou will also get a better idea for how long it will take for your hair and make-up to be done. Will your hairstyle take just 15 minutes? Or will it take at least an hour? Once you know this, you can make sure that you're scheduled in plenty of time to be looking your best before you walk down the aisle.

It's important to select and have had a trial run with the hairstyle and make-up that you would like for your wedding well in advance before the big day. If you don't like how your style turns out during the trial run, you can try something else. On your wedding day, time really flies by and things can take longer than you might guess. Save yourself some stress! By selecting and testing your hair and make-up in advance, you don't have to worry about extra time spent redoing your styles on the actual day of your wedding.

I just love this summer family portrait session with the Ketema family! One of the family's daughters contacted me wanting to suprise her father for his birthday with a family portrait session. She said that it had been years since they last had a family photo together and wanted to have some new images that they could display and enjoy. Since I knew that this session was special for them, we ventured to Inniswood Metro Gardens in Westerville for their family portrait session. The Ketemas are from Eastern Africa and wore their beautiful native clothes for their session. Their landscape and gardens at the park helped to highlight and bring out the details in their attire. We had a lot of fun making their images and I hope that they enjoy them for years to come!

Take a Wedding Planning Breather: Stop and Smell the Roses

They say the 3 most stressful times in a person's life are: getting married, buying a house, and having a baby. All 3 of which are also pretty amazing and special things. Sometimes though, the stress and activities associated with all 3 can be pretty overwhelming.

Our specialty is weddings and time and time again, we've heard stories of couples who are so stressed about their wedding day that they have bad dreams about it or that they're having large disagreements with family members or their partner over the wedding arrangements. It's really sad that during one of the most exciting times of your life that you can also feel so frazzled.

Today's wedding tip is a reminder to "Stop and Smell the Roses"! When things get overwhelming while you are planning your wedding, take a break! Take a walk with your loved one, grab some ice cream, go to the park, and remember why you both fell in love in the first place. The connection you both have and the lifetime commitment to each other is the real reason you're getting married.

While "Smelling the Roses" and enjoying life, be sure to be good to yourself. Make sure that you're eating well, still catching up with friends, or enjoying some of your favorite hobbies. I promise that it will make you feel so much better and in control of what's happening in during this busy time. Once you feel refreshed and ready to tackle the next task during your planning, you can return to it. Taking a breather every once in a while and taking care of "you" is so important for your soul, your health, and your sanity. And it'll help keep the overwhelm under control during your wedding planning! :-)

Questions to Ask Your Wedding Photographer

Selecting a wedding photographer is a big decision. It’s important to find someone you can trust and who cares about you, your day, and your images as much as you do. You only have one chance to capture your wedding day and to have it captured exactly how you want it. The secret is to work with someone that is a perfect fit for you. After the wedding, you should be thrilled with both your images and your experience! (For more tips about how to choose your wedding photographer, please see our Wedding Tip on: "How to Choose Your Wedding Photographer".)

As you are narrowing down your decision on a photographer, there are some key questions that you should ask.

How much professional experience do you have as a wedding photographer?

There are no do-overs on your wedding day. Be sure to ask how long your photographer has been photographing weddings and if they are a true wedding professional. Weddings are very different to photograph than just portraits. There are a lot of things that photographers need to be aware of and know how to do such as: use a wedding day timeline to make sure your wedding day goes smoothly; work in low light situations common for indoor ceremonies or reception spaces; organize large groups quickly for family photos, make some beautiful images of you, your fiance, and wedding party; and provide support to you before and during your wedding day.

An experienced, seasoned professional will have multiple events, if not years of experience, a portfolio showcasing their work, and reviews/testimonials from past clients. Be rest assured when you're making your decision by choosing an experienced professional who will be prepared for anything on your big day and has the portfolio to prove it.

Will there be a contract provided?

Contracts, sometimes called "Photo Agreements", are incredibly important when booking. A good contract will describe the services agreed to, date of coverage, costs and payment dates, and include the turn-around times of when you can expect to receive your final images. It will also provide info such as if the photographer has the ability to use the images in their portfolio. If a photographer is not able to provide a contract with all of these points, you run the risk of not knowing what you're agreeing to or when you'll receive your images. It's best to have one upfront when booking and can prevent any confusion in the future as far as what to expect.

Do you book more than 1 event for the same day?

Large, multi-photographer studios can easily handle more than 1 event for the same day because each photographer can cover a different event. For smaller studios, we recommend that you select a photographer who will only have your wedding booked on your wedding date so they can focus on serving you on your big day. Sometimes plans can change and you might need for them to come in earlier or stay later. If your photographer has multiple events booked for the same day, they might not be as focused on your big day.

Who will be photographing my wedding?

It's always good to confirm who exactly will be covering your special day. You'll want to meet with them, learn about each other's personalities, ask them questions, and make sure that they are a good fit. By meeting with them in advance, you don't have to worry about what or who to expect covering your wedding. For larger studios with multiple photographers, you'll want to meet the photographer that will actually be present and capturing your special day.

What happens if you are ill?

While it's extremely unlikely that your wedding photographer will suddenly not be able to cover your day, it's important to know what the back-up plan is if your photographer should suddenly become extremely ill or have a family emergency and be unable to make it. Do they have a network of other photographers they can call to have someone take their place? Will they make these arrangements? Or are you responsible for making arrangements should the photographer be unable to make it? A good photographer will have a back-up plan, upon back-up plan to make sure that you get the coverage of your special day that you expect.

How many images can I expect to receive?

While every wedding is unique and different, and no photographer is going to tell you an exact number of images you'll expect to receive, they should be able to give you a rough estimate of how many final images you can expect. As a general rule, a large 300+ guest wedding with 10 hours of coverage will most likely have significantly more final images than a small, intimate wedding with only 5 hours of coverage. Most photographers will easily be able to tell you a range of final edited images that you can expect per hour of coverage.

When will the digital images and album be available?

After your big day, you'll be so excited to see your images and share them with your family and friends! It is so important to clarify upfront the estimated delivery time of your images so that you know what to expect. This should be included in your wedding contract. Preparing and editing your final images does take time, but a true professional should let you know.

A special congratulations to Morgan and Patrick on their Romantic Summer Wedding at The Lakes Golf and Country Club! It was such an honor to work with them both on their special day. :-)

From the beginning, it was easy to see the couple's connection. Laughter is such an important part of their lives- we know that their relaxed and fun approach to life will serve them well in the years ahead! We are so excited for them both as they start this next chapter of their lives together!

Morgan and Patrick began looking for venues for their wedding a year before their wedding so that they could get a better feel for what the venue landscaping would look like on their big day. The fell in love with the beautiful scenery and classic style of The Lakes Golf and Country Club. We're glad they did! We made some beautiful images of the two of them and our videographer friends at Iconic Media captured some wonderful moments on video!

We had a great time capturing all the special moments and people from their wedding and hope that they'll remember their big day with a smile every time they look at their photos. We wish them all the best! Enjoy some of our favorites from their wedding!

How to Choose the Right Wedding Photographer for You

With something as big your wedding day, it’s important to find someone you can trust and who cares about you, your day, and your images as much as you do. You only have one chance to capture your wedding day and to have it captured exactly how you want it. The secret is to work with someone that is a perfect fit for you. After the wedding, you should be thrilled with both your images and your experience!

With so many wedding photographers out there, it can be challenging to make a decision on whom to select. There are 3 things you should pay close attention to when selecting a wedding photographer:

1. Photographic Style of Wedding Photography

When choosing your photographer, make sure that you love their photographic style. These are images that you are going to be looking at for the rest of your lives and for generations to come. Before you make a decision, look at a photographer’s work and understand their shooting style. Make sure that their style is exactly what you’re looking for, because those are the types of images that you can expect to receive.

2. Trust a Professional Wedding Photographer

Choose someone that you trust wholeheartedly. Your wedding day is a one-time event. There are no reshoots. Because you can’t just redo your wedding, you want to make sure it is photographed properly from the get-go. Be leery of people with a nice camera, but don’t have any professional wedding experience. Just because someone has a nice camera, doesn’t mean that they know how to cover a wedding, photograph you in a flattering way, round up family members for portraits, edit images, or give you a quality product. With an event as important and as sacred as a wedding, you should trust someone who has extensive experience in wedding photography and a proven track record of success. Review a photographer’s testimonials. Select someone that you can trust to not only cover your day, but who will provide you with the quality of images you’re seeking and provide them in a timely manner.

3. Select a Photographer You Know You'll Love Being Around

This is one of the most important tips. When selecting a photographer, you should make sure that it’s someone you and your fiancé get along well with. Wedding photographers spend the majority of your wedding day with you. Your wedding is one of the happiest days of your lives, so you want to be genuinely happy in your photos, and not gritting your teeth, forcing smiles because you can’t stand your photographer. Your photographer is also one of the few vendors that you’ll be in contact with after your wedding day. (You have to get your images of course!) The entire photo experience should be a positive one from start to finish, so you might as well work with someone you like!

After the party is over, and the wedding guests have left, your wedding photos are one of the few things you’ll have to look back on to remember your day. You should LOVE your wedding photos. I want you to be ecstatic about them! The secret to wedding photography that you will LOVE begins with choosing a photographer who is a perfect fit for you.

1st Annual Dog Days of Summer Mini Session

Benefiting Friends of the Shelter and the Franklin County Dog Shelter

Their Story

Since early 2014, financial donations to Friends of the Shelter have decreased by over 30%, while the shelter dogs' medical care costs have increased by more than 35%--resulting in a deficit of over $35,000 and growing. This trend is not sustainable. Their savings is running out. For the first time in their history, Friends of the Shelter will not be able to save the sick and injured Shelter dogs unless they receive immediate financial support from the community.

How You Can Help

In an effort to raise some funds for them, we have decided to dedicate our our Summer 2014 Mini Sessions, Dog Days of Summer, to our friends at Friends of the Shelter. We will be donating 20% of all mini sessions sales to Friends of the Shelter.

We have spoken to the organization and are so excited to work with them and our fundraising efforts.

To boost our fundraising potential, instead of holding the mini sessions over a weekend like most, our Dog Days of Summer Mini Sessions will be available from July 14th-August 31st. All sessions are currently done on location in the Columbus, Ohio area. We are happy to meet you at a park or at your home for your session.

Anyone is welcome to schedule a mini session, regardless of whether you're a pet owner or not.

These sessions are perfect for families, children, and couples, and if you are a dog owner, you can even bring your dog to your session!

Not only can you gather up your loved ones and get some fresh portraits to share with your friends and family, but to display in your home, but you can contribute to a great cause!

If you know of anyone sho might be interested in a summer mini portrait session, please spread the word! We want to see just how much money we can raise to support Friends of the Shelter!

A Dog Days of Summer Mini Session Includes:

30 Minute Session

15 High Res Images

$125 + tax

Sessions will be held: July 14th through August 31st

Location: Columbus, Ohio Area Parks
