Muschlitz Photography's Summer Mini Sessions went "to the dogs" this year! 

Dogs have always held a special place in our hearts at Muschlitz Photography. When we heard that the non-profit, Friends of the Shelter, has had a dramatic decrease in their financial donations and increase in medical care costs when saving the lives of sick and injured Shelter dogs at the Franklin County Dog Shelter and Adoption Center, we wanted to find way that we could help.

Friends of the Shelter is an all-volunteer, 501c3 non-profit organization established to fund the medical care of the sick and injured dogs at the Franklin County Dog Shelter and Adoption Center. The Franklin County Dog Shelter and Adoption Center is funded by the county budget and from funds generated through fees, such as dog licenses. However, these sources of funding are not sufficient to provide medical care for the Shelter dogs that need more than basic services.  The Friends of the Shelter was formed in 2003 to save these sick or injured--but otherwise adoptable--dogs so they can be adopted into loving, forever families.

In an effort to raise some funds for them, we dedicated our our Summer 2014 Mini Sessions, Dog Days of Summer, to our friends at Friends of the Shelter. 

One of our first clients for the Dog Days of Summer Mini Sessions was Kara and Danny and their dog Daisy! We ventured to one of my favorite dog-friendly locations, Highbanks Metro Park for an evening portrait session. Summer evening portrait sessions are at the perfect time of the day to make images with the warm light from the setting sun. We made some wonderful images of the 3 of them that I'm so excited to share! Enjoy some of my favorites from their session!
