How We Did It: Carrie + Daniel's Elegant Fall Country Wedding Silhouettes

When placed in an interesting setting with unique lighting, we often get some great ideas for some creative images! Carrie and Daniel's fabulous evening wedding at their stables at the New Albany Granville Equestrian Center provided all the elements necessary to create one of our favorite images of their day. The light coming from the open horse stable doors made for the perfect backdrop to capture this silhouette of the couple. For special shots like this, we always test it out before bringing the couple in for the real thing. Since we took this during the evening as the reception was going on, we wanted to make sure that we could master the photo quickly without keeping the couple away from their guests for more than a few minutes. We carefully composed the frame and got the exposure to be just right before asking the couple step in. We had a lot of fun testing this shot. For this photo, my second photographer Ben was the model and pretended to be the "kissing couple" so I could get the proper exposure for the shot. It's an "inside look" and a great example of the planning and fun we have while creating some of our favorite and unique images.
