Outdoor Portraits? Bring Extra Wedding Shoes for Photos and Dancing!

Planning to take some wedding portraits outdoors in the grass? Will you be walking a lot for your portrait locations? Are you going to burn up the dance floor during the reception? For situations such as these, it's always a good idea to have some comfortable shoes for walking or dancing!

Many brides like to change into flip-flops or other comfortable footwear with a low heel such as (flats, sneakers, or boots) after the ceremony so that they can more easily move and get around. High heels have the tendency to get stuck in the ground, but a low heel or flat bottomed shoe does the trick. And a bonus: Your feet will thank you!

On Taryn and Matthew's big day, Taryn slipped on her favorite blue Ugg boots when we traveled around for their outdoor bride and groom portraits. Her boots allowed for the couple to stand in the grass so that I could capture this beautiful portrait of the two of them! (See photo above.) Her dress was long enough and covered her shoes...you couldn't tell that she was wearing her favorite boots in her photos. :-)
